Top 5 Spring 2013 Bridal Trends

TREND 1: One-Shoulder

Suuure, your other shoulder might get a little jealous but, oh well! This Spring, designers added either a flower, bow or feathers as a surprise element to one shoulder while baring the other. Modern brides and celebrities everywhere are quickly embracing these one-shoulder breath-taking gowns. Could you see yourself in a one-shoulder?

TREND 2: Illusion Neckline in Crystals

Brides desiring a touch of bling bling to their gowns should check out this upcoming trend featuring an almost invisible neckline creating the illusion of a gown dipped in crystals from head to toe. Designers allowed these fabulous designs to bring the right attention to the neck and chest while maintaining it’s conservative integrity. Brides dreaming of being a snow princess in a winter wonderland wedding should take notice of these sparklers!

TREND 3: Cap Sleeves

Strapless, strapless, strapless! If you’re not the strapless-gown loving bride, take a moment to consider sleeves. Dressing up your shoulders can add that special touch to create a conservative-yet-classy look. Selected designers added extraordinary detail such as lace, embroidery or jewels to the forgotten shoulder.

Your shoulders have never looked so good!

TREND 4: Grandiose Skirts

Is bigger always better?

Brides who command attention – while secretly hoping to make their guests’ eyes pop – share the same passion for the larger things in life as these designers. Brides will ‘wow’ any audience in these attention-getting gowns with dramatic skirts. Wearing these gowns will make you look like you are floating on air like Ginger Rogers dancing with Fred Astaire.

Trend 5: Dramatic RED

Being in the RED = Not good for your bank account, but it’s great for gowns!

Who would have thought that such a strong color usually associated with war and danger could be translated into a fiery-yet-elegant wedding gown? Designers are using red to symbolize passion, excitement and love.  These designers show their boldness and rebel-rousing vision to send these out-of-the-box vibrant designs down the runway. Finally RED is portrayed in a whole new light!

Would you dare to wear a red wedding gown?

Now that you’ve seen the latest Spring 2013 Bridal trends, let us know what you think!

Leslie’s Opinion: My personal favorites would be the cap-sleeved Nicole Miller gown and the Monique Lhuillier grandiose gown. I’m slightly (actually more than slightly) obsessed with the lace neckline from the Nicole Miller gown and the way it forms to the body is absolutely beautiful! I also love the detail from the Monique Lhuillier gown. This dress definitely has a lot going on but it is so stunning!

Which trend did you like the best, and why? Which designer’s gown surprised you the most, what about it surprised you? Which gown could you see yourself in?
