This season’s runways are glimmering with metallic fabrics and feminine details like bows and sparkling sequins. Lady-like elegance inspired by the styles of the 1920’s-50’s are making a huge come back, like that seen at Marc Jacobs. We saw lots of gold and silver, velvet, embellishments, and lavish feathers and furs. The pale pastels and soft neutrals along with the rich textures from this collection are perfect inspiration for romantic Fall and Winter weddings.

Marc added a modern touch to vintage styles by using beautiful silk taffeta with a touch of iridescent metallic sheen (very similar to Nicole Miller’s metallic taffeta circa Bridal 07/08). The warm creamy neutrals and soft greys are the perfect Fall/Winter wedding palette. He countered the softness by leaving raw edges on some gowns and added a delicate, more polished look with a big bow on others. These designs would make for lovely, one-of-a-kind bridal gowns.
