Cameo Wedding Details

When I was very young, my mom had a brush that had a brown tortoise shell with a black and white cameo on the back. Something about that brush and the cameo on the back always feel like cameos were special things. They were the necklaces that were passed from grandmother to grand daughter, they were the special compact mirrors that a mother gave her teenage daughter for her sweet sixteen birthday, or the locket that my mother gave me for a birthday years ago.

More and more, cameos are popping up in wedding day decor. They are versatile enough to use in many different styles of weddings: very traditional, romantic Victorian-inspired, or even incorporated into a modern look.

Instead of wearing a cameo in the more traditional necklace, it can be incorporated into your bridal bouquet. This bouquet has a collection of old keys, a cameo, feathers, shells, and flowers, and I thought it was just stunning.

This second bouquet also uses a cameo, but has a completely different feel. Yet it’s still stunning and really personalizes the bouquet for the bride, at a more rustic affair.

These are actually invitations! They open like books and have the invitations inside. The cameos are a delightful detail, adding color and a a sense of something special to the package.

There are a million ways to incorporate a cameo into your invitations, but these really grabbed me! The graphic use of both the cameo and the vintage-modern pattern is so bold and yet elegant.

I totally love the cameos on the back of the bride and grooms chairs! These chair ties were actually a DIY project, and could easily be recreated in almost any style to fit your wedding. The elegant cookies shown to the right add a nice unexpected touch to the table.
Do you have a family heirloom or just a favorite piece of jewelry that you’re trying to work into your wedding?
