Of course, this dress displays beautifully on specific body shapes and is typically best worn at more upscale soirees.

Who should wear a ball gown?
Thin, tall, triangle or rectangle figured brides look great in a classic ball gown. Brides with a slight pear shape figure or slim hour glass figure will look stunning in a less defined waist ball gown, with a fuller skirt.

Who shouldn’t wear a ball gown?
Ball gowns do not typically flatter a petite figure, a pronounced pear shaped or hourglass figure. While some have said that a ball gown is recommended to disguise a pear shape, this is only true if the hips are slightly wider than the shoulders. If the hips are larger that the shoulders, the ball gown will actually do the opposite and instead, it emphasizes the hips. The ball gown is definitely a statement dress and sometimes the drama can hide a smaller bride.
