Drawn together by their shared appreciation of love and nature, Crystal and Onkar truly are a beautiful couple. These two find themselves outdoors most often, going on adventures together, including hiking, backpacking, rock-climbing and sight-seeing. It was only natural that Onkar proposed to Crystal during one of their hikes at Great Basin National Park under a beautiful grove of Aspens, her favorite tree. How romantic!
Crystal and Onkar chose The Hideout in Kirkwood as their venue because they believed it showcased their love of nature and outdoors. With it’s stunning views of the lake and mountains, Team KWE couldn’t agree more. When asked how they wanted their wedding to feel, Crystal and Onkar stressed the idea that they wanted their day to reflect their lifestyle: simplistic yet whimsical. They wanted their guests to be swept off their feet by the natural beauty surrounding them. By highlighting the Hideout’s rustic venue with soft yet magnificent florals to whimsical decor, we believe we achieved Crystal and Onkar’s wedding desires!

With the majestic clouds looming overhead, Team KWE sprung into action and executed our Rain Plan. We moved the ceremony to the lakeside deck, where they were greeted with delicious beverages and took their seats by the lake. The couple sailed in a canoe and had their ceremony atop a secret rock on the lake while their guests looked on from the shore.
From here, guests moved to the reception to enjoy passed appetizers and drinks while celebrating the newlyweds. Everyone enjoyed a delicious vegan and vegetarian buffet meal, including lasagna verde, spaghetti squash, potatoes and veggies. The newlyweds ended the formal evening in style to Katy Perry’s “Baby You’re a Firework” complete with sparklers. They then invited guests to their after party, offering s’mores and hot chocolate. The wedding was truly a success, despite the gloomy weather, and Team KWE was honored to be apart of it. We wish you both endless amounts of happiness and love in your marriage. Ohhhhhh I love the one of them on the water!!
My favorite part of the story, is that Crystal and Onkar had a lot of input from family and friends on whether or not to move to the lake for their ceremony. So he canoed her out to the rock and they discussed it alone, just the two of them, where they ended up marrying the next day. Love that intimate moment!
