Fall 2013 New York Bridal Fashion Week Trends

The Fall 2013 New York Bridal Fashion Week made its debut recently and the gowns were quite a sight to see! From tulle flowing skirts to V-shaped necklines; outrageous head wear to the downright gaudy. Clearly, the trends for next Fall will certainly peak the interest of any bride.

1. Sleeves

The latest trend kicks off with these stunning gowns featuring sleeves with intricate detail work. Sheer sleeves that drape the entire length of the arm were spotted in several designers’ collections. The inspiration for this trend is rumored to have been originated from Kate Middleton’s gown at the Royal Wedding. Is it time to say good bye to the ever-popular strapless gown? Probably not, but these do throw a surprise in the mix of designs! Despite the fact that these gowns discretely cover up more skin, they resemble a loose tango between conservative and sexy.

 2. Corset Bodices

The multifunctional corset gown can both boost you up and hold things together all while giving you a slim silhouette. These designs paired corset bodices with illusion necklines or straps to create these beautiful dresses.

 3. Lace, Lace, Everywhere!

Remnants of the Royal Wedding are yet again trending in American wedding fashions, this time is the form of lace detail. Lace is  making a comeback on American soil. No longer regarded as old-matronly material – these designers modernized and updated the timeless textile.

4. Soft Colors

First it was Vera Wang’s eye popping red avant garde gowns last year – now next year’s designers are switching it up with soft heavenly colors. Creamy taupe, cloudy blues and pink blush pastel gowns were the alternatives to the classic white wedding dress.

4. Mermaid

Gorgeous mermaid gowns were spotted in almost every line.  Each designer put their own personal touches on their gowns and spared no detail when it came to the breath-taking fitted skirt. From head-to-toe, these gowns were reminiscent of a Beethoven symphony beginning with soft melodies leading up to a loud dramatic finish.
