Real Wedding: Samantha & Ryan

An Alchemy Exclusive! The journey to the aisle for Samantha & Ryan was one you might read about in a love story. This couple started off meeting as teens attending a Bush concert in the Philippines – little did they know at the time, they would travel down separate paths that would eventually lead them right back to each other!

While Ryan worked in Napa and San Francisco, Samantha was busy working towards her MBA in Spain. Even though these two were in different countries and time zones they maintained contact throughout the years. The pair even became world travelers getting stamps on their passports from countries such as Italy and Morocco among other destinations. In fact, their travels together inspired the overall design of their wedding.

Drawing inspiration from Italian, Spanish, and Moroccan influences, this fabulously eclectic wedding incorporated the bold colors of ruby red, golden ocher, turquoise, eggplant and warm amber to transport guests overseas to an intimate alternate world without leaving their feet. The ceremony was held at the romantic Old Saint Mary’s Cathedral, donning the title as one of the oldest in California. The ceremony programs (and all paper products) were designed by none other than the bride herself who had a great eye for design. After Samantha & Ryan were pronounced man and wife, guests were escorted to the reception by way of cable car, to pay homage to the city by the bay.

Prior to the wedding, Ryan and Samantha traveled to Morocco, bringing back Moroccan tiles to further complete the International experience they planned for their wedding. Moroccan lanterns and wax candles, colorful mini apples, Tuscan sunflowers, bright succulents and authentic Spanish and Italian tiles, were all pieces added to the tablescapes at the reception. Guests posed for pictures with the photo booth complete with a Moroccan pergola as a backdrop. The wedding party even busted a move on the dance floor during a coordinated wedding party dance to entertain guests. This was a wedding to remember for a lifetime! Congratulations Ryan and Samantha!
