Meet Lauren Mireles

Hello all! My name is Lauren Mireles and I am beyond thrilled to be joining the KWE team. I cannot wait to get started on being a part of the fabulous events put together by Kate Whelan Events.

There are many things I like about this business. I enjoy learning about a couple’s journey, putting together a baby shower or sprinkle shower, or a business event. I also enjoy building new relationships with my clients, vendors and of course the attendees of the events making sure everyone is right at home. There is no event too small or too big that I don’t have an absolute ball working with all people involved.

This journey of finding my passion in event planning has been a great experience. (KWE as being the greatest…of course!) My greatest gift I feel I can give someone is de-stressing them. I have always volunteered to plan work events, birthdays, bridal showers – you name it and I was like a moth to a flame. I have a keen sense of detail and I am always double-checking – ok, sometimes triple-checking – to make sure everything is in its place and everyone is on schedule.

Over the past year I had been trying to figure out just exactly where I wanted to be. A few months ago I started researching the top planners in my area…and I found Kate Whelan. I was thrilled when a friend invited me to a Wish Upon a Wedding fundraiser. She said, “Oh and Kate will be there too!” I was thrilled to be able to meet Kate and to see if I could work for her. So, of course, there was a photo booth there…and a chalkboard…and Kate standing in front of me…. So I did what anyone would do, I wrote on the chalkboard, “Kate Whelan Please Hire Me.” We got to talking and meeting – and as of a week ago I became the new Assistant Event Coordinator and I could not be happier working for the extraordinary woman and her team!

When I am not working, which I do enjoy, I love spending time with my family and my sweet baby niece Lilly Mae! I enjoy trying new things, baking cupcakes – ALL FLAVORS – and creating fun and new things to do. Things I would like to do in the next few months: a wine tour in Napa, visit Mendocino at least once before the end of 2012, and continue to live each day to the fullest!

Thanks for reading my blog! More to come…
